Building Use Requests
Before You Begin
If you schedule requests through the Park Authority or your event is recreational in nature, stop. Contact the Park Authority at 703.792.7060 to schedule your request. Do not utilize MySchoolBuilding.com yourself.
If you are with the Prince William County Arts Council, stop. Contact Kathy Bentz at 703.792.7060 to schedule your request. Do not utilize MySchoolBuilding.com yourself.
Step 1: Log on to MySchoolBuilding
Once you are logged in, you should see several tabs at the top of your screen:

Checking the Status of a Request
First, log into the system using the instructions at the top of this page.
Once you have done so, click the "My Requests" tab at the top of the screen. It should turn blue:
Once you have done so, two red links should appear below the tabs:
Click on "My Schedule Requests." The status of your existing requests will be displayed as well as any funds owed as associated with your request(s).
Cancelling an Existing Request
First, log into the system using the instructions at the top of this page.
Next, view the "My Scheduled Requests" screen as described in the section above this one.
The name(s) of your event(s) will appear in the leftmost column in red. Click on the name of the event(s) you wish to cancel.
Beneath "Event Title," you will see a check box labeled "Check here to cancel this schedule." Add a check to this box, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save" to complete the cancelation process.
This will cancel your entire event. If you only need to cancel specific dates within an existing event, contact the school at which your event is scheduled and request to speak to the individual responsible for Building Use.

Step 1: Log on to MySchoolBuilding
- Direct your web browser to www.MySchoolBuilding.com.
- The organization account number is 805183456.
- You will be prompted to enter an email address. Do so, then click "Submit."
- If this is the first time you have used the system, this error will appear: "We cannot find the indicated email address. Please either correct the email address or enter your last name below if you are a new requester."
- Enter your last name and click "Submit."
- If you are presented with a list of names, select yours or if your name does not appear, select the option that your name does not appear.
- Complete as many fields as possible if you are asked to enter your personal information. The more information you enter, the easier it will be for the school to process your request.
Once you are logged in, you should see several tabs at the top of your screen:

Step 2: Scheduling Your Request
- Click the "Schedule Request" tab at the top of your screen. It should turn blue:

- The screen heading will now read "New Schedule."
- You will see three icons:
- Normal Schedule
- Recurring Schedule
- Irregular Schedule
- Click on the icon that best describes the nature of your request.
- On the request information screen, complete as many fields as possible. The more information you enter, the easier it will be for the school to process your request. However, there are several fields that require specific information. Read Step 3 for this information before you submit your request.
- In the field called "Area," which by default says "-- Select Area --" leave this blank. Do not select an area.
- In the field called "Location," select the school at which you are requesting to hold your event.
- In the field called "Rooms," you will see a set of binoculars to the right of the "-- Select Room ---" entry. Click on the binoculars.
- You will see a list of rooms to select. Click each room you are requesting.
- Scroll all the way to the bottom of the room selection screen to find "OK," and click "OK."
- In the field called "Spans Over," which by default says "1," leave this field alone. Do not change it from "1."
- Be sure to click "Save" all the way at the bottom of the screen when you have completed all of the pertinent fields.
