Computer Lab Restrictions
Computer labs at Battlefield High School may not be used during the instructional day for "lessons" that are exclusively productivity, including word processing. In short, teachers cannot hold class meeting that are strictly for typing papers. Facilities and resources will be made available outside of the instructional day to accommodate the needs of any student.
Substitute teachers may not conduct lessons in computer labs. Regular classroom teachers may not leave substitute lesson plans that require the use of a computer lab. Long-term substitutes are exempt from this policy provided they have sought appropriate classroom management support when appropriate.
Computer Lab Access
Computer Lab Sharing
It is incumbent upon the teacher using the lab to strictly observe the schedule and to vacate the lab by the conclusion of the partial increment to avoid conflicts. It is incumbent upon the teacher coming in to the lab not to infringe upon another teacher's already-reserved time. Please be cooperative and polite.
Mobile Lab Protocol
You should cancel reservations promptly when the need arises by emailing the Instructional Technologist. Please attempt to cancel labs 24 hours in advance whenever possible.

Computer Lab Request Schedule
The five general computer labs (1000, 2112, 2113, 2114, and 2115) are signed out in partial-period increments for all blocks but first. Block 1 is a single time period due to its duration. Blocks 2, 3, 6 and 7 are split in half. The division of Blocks 4 and 5 use the existing lunch schedule, bell-to-bell and identically labeled A, B, C, and D.
Therefore the daily available time slots are:
Block 1 (7:20 AM - 8:20 AM Bell)
Block 2A or 3A (8:26 AM - 9:11 AM) - No bell
Block 2B or 3B (9:11 AM - 9:56 AM Bell)
Block 4A or 5A (10:02 AM - 10:34 AM Bell)
Block 4B or 5B (10:34 AM - 11:08 AM Bell)
Block 4C or 5C (11:08 AM - 11:40 AM Bell)
Block 4D or 5D (11:40 AM - 12:12 PM Bell)
Block 6A or 7A (12:18 PM - 1:04 PM) - No bell
Block 6B or 7B (1:04PM - 1:50 PM Bell)
You may sign out labs for the full period if you need them; however, this system allows you to surgically plan your instructional time and environment and allow other teachers to avail themselves of the labs when you don't need them.

Computer Lab Access
Computer labs should be locked at all times when not in use. To access a computer lab, teachers should procure the appropriate key, and should be required by the key's storage location to document taking the key.
The Lab 1000 Key is available from the Library Media Center.
The Lab 1000 Key is available from the Library Media Center.
The Lab 2112, 2113, 2114, and 2115 keys are available from the Satellite Office.
Teachers should bserve good classroom and hallway management procedures by taking students past the Satellite Office while walking them to class in the lab, signing out the key on the way. For safety and security, teachers should not leave students unattended in corridors under any circumstances, nor should they request or allow students to obtain or return the keys.

For safety and security, teachers should not leave students unattended in corridors under any circumstances, nor should they request or allow students to obtain or return the keys.
It is absolutely imperative that teachers either hand the computer lab key directly to the hand of the person coming into the lab OR return the key to the Satellite Office. When in doubt, return the computer lab key to the Satellite Office. The person who signs out the key from the Satellite Office is responsible for the key.
