Fall Sports Awards Rescheduled
The Fall Sports Awards ceremony has been rescheduled from November 24 to December 7 at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium.

Going Green Design Challenge
Do you have an artistic eye? A competition to decorate Battlefield's recycling boxes is being sponsored by the Environmental Club! Enter by December 21, 2009. Learn more by downloading the flyer!
NYC Trip Meeting
The parent meeting for the Fashion, Finance, and Management Tour to New York City trip will be held Monday, November 30 at 5:30 PM in Room 2125. You may contact Mrs. Adkins with questions at adkinscm@pwcs.edu.
Playoff Game and Spirit Wear
On Friday, November 20, Battlefield's football team will take on Franklin County in the regional semi-final playoffs here on our home turf. Admission is $6, no BHS passes accepted. Come support your Bobcats and check out the new spirit wear offerings! New purple sweatshirts, long sleeve T's, hats, house flags, umbrellas, sweatpants and more will be available to help you represent the Purple and Black of BHS!
Freshman Parent Coffee Rescheduled
The Freshman Parent Coffee advertised in the Newsletter has been rescheduled to December 8, 2009 at 8:00 AM in the Enclosed Cafeteria. Mrs. Iglehart and Mrs. O’Donnell will give an overview of the Counseling Center’s resources, graduation requirements, four year planning, and successful academic strategies. Rock to Recovery 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run
Rock to Recovery will be hosting a 5k run and a 1 mile fun run on November 21, 2009. It will take place right here at Battlefield High School. The 5k course will loop around the school, Graduation Drive and end with the last mile on the track. There will be  DJ, food, and fun activities for all ages, so come join in on the fun! Registration forms are due by November 7, 2009. All 5k participants will receive a t-shirt included in the registration fee and 1 mile fun run participates will receive a water bottle. Register now and have a great time supporting Music Corps! Music Corps is “a rehabilitative music program for injured combat veterans” at Walter Reed Hospital. It provides opportunities for men who are recovering from severe injuries to have an outlet for their stress and helps to save them from the monotony of being confined by four hospital room walls for months at a time.
Munchkin Morning: Nov 21, 10 AM - 12 Noon
The Drama Club is sponsoring a "Munchkin Morning" this Saturday from 10 AM until 12 Noon in the Enclosed Cafeteria, followed by a 1 PM matinee of "The Magical Land of OZ." Bring your child to blow bubbles with Glenda the Good Witch, have a coloring Contest with the Munchkins, read stories with the Cowardly Lion, take pictures with the Wicked Witch of the West, or just play games with the Monkeys in the Enchanted Forest! Cost: Children $3.00, Students $5.00, and Adults $7.00.
BC Signs with BU
Brittany Clendenny (with her parents watching), rising senior member of the Bobcat softball team, signed a letter of intent to accept an athletic scholarship from Boston University for Fall of 2010 admissions. A member of the successful Bobcat program, “BC” has started at shortstop for three straight years. In 2009 she was selected to the all-district and all-region teams and earned honorable mention on the all-state AAA team.
Class of 2010 Graduation / Commencement News
PWCS has released June 11 through June 18 as the range of dates that all high schools will schedule their graduation ceremonies.  Battlefield's date will be released after Nissan Pavilion sets its concert schedule in late February. Once a specific date has been locked, an updated announcement will be posted on the website and messages will go out to all senior parents.
Senior Surveys
Attention all seniors: If you didn't already get the chance to do so at the senior breakfast, be sure to complete the senior surveys.  We want your input on senior superlatives, after-grad festivities, and other senior-year activities.  Return these to the main office.
Tricycle Race Video
Mr. Proctor has provided a produced music video of the Third Annual BHS Faculty Tricycle Race. You may download the video in WMV (Windows Media Video) format by clicking here. BHS Virtual Book Fair
Parents and students are invited to browse the BHS Virtual Bookfair (Be sure to use "Battlefield" as your organization code) through December 6 at www.BookWormCentral.com. Selected Language Arts required reading, AP/SAT/PSAT test prep materials, world language dictionaries, recreational reading, cookbooks, and more will be available for purchase. Battlefield will receive a portion of each sale.
