The Fall Sports Awards ceremony has been rescheduled from November 24 to December 7 at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium.

The BHS PTO will meet Monday, December, 7th at 7:00 PM in the Library for its holiday social. Parents are urged to bring cookies, beverages, and a friend. The January meeting is set for Tuesday, January 12, 2010.

The Freshman Parent Coffee advertised in the Newsletter has been rescheduled to December 8, 2009 at 8:00 AM in the Enclosed Cafeteria. Mrs. Iglehart and Mrs. O’Donnell will give an overview of the Counseling Center’s resources, graduation requirements, four year planning, and successful academic strategies. The BHS PTO (www.BHS-PTO.com) will be offering graduating seniors scholarships again this year. Seniors who have earned at least a 3.0 GPA, have been accepted to college, have financial need, and have a family member in good standing with the PTO may apply for one of two $500 scholarships. Eligible seniors may download the application form (in either MS Word .doc format or Adobe Acrobat .pdf format), or pick up a copy from the Counseling Center. Applications are due by Friday, April 30, 2010.

Brittany Clendenny (with her parents watching), rising senior member of the Bobcat softball team, signed a letter of intent to accept an athletic scholarship from Boston University for Fall of 2010 admissions. A member of the successful Bobcat program, “BC” has started at shortstop for three straight years. In 2009 she was selected to the all-district and all-region teams and earned honorable mention on the all-state AAA team.

PWCS has released June 11 through June 18 as the range of dates that all high schools will schedule their graduation ceremonies.  Battlefield's date will be released after Nissan Pavilion sets its concert schedule in late February. Once a specific date has been locked, an updated announcement will be posted on the website and messages will go out to all senior parents.

Attention all seniors: If you didn't already get the chance to do so at the senior breakfast, be sure to complete the senior surveys.  We want your input on senior superlatives, after-grad festivities, and other senior-year activities.  Return these to the main office.

Selected Language Arts required reading, AP/SAT/PSAT test prep materials, world language dictionaries, recreational reading, cookbooks, and more will be available for purchase. Battlefield will receive a portion of each sale.
